What Is Gibbr?
Gibbr is a translation-first social app. You write in your own language — a post, a room message, a direct conversation — and everyone else reads it in theirs, automatically. The translation is part of the social layer, so people who share no language can just talk.
Gibbr versus a translator app
A translator app converts text you paste into it. Gibbr is a social network with the translator built into every message. You never copy text out, swap apps, or paste anything: you join a room, say something, and the other side reads it in their language while you read theirs in yours. The conversation stays a conversation.
Rooms: conversations with a topic
A room is a shared space with a topic, a language setting and, for private rooms, a join code. Casual rooms, language and country rooms, staff rooms — each one translates in place, so a room is never split by who speaks what.
Venues: real places, every language
A venue is a real-world place — a bar, cafe, hostel or hotel — running its own Gibbr room. Staff get seats with an access code, visitors scan a QR code at the counter or table, and an international crowd chats in whatever language everyone actually speaks.
SOS zones: emergencies across languages
Gibbr also runs SOS zones: an emergency layer that takes a distress message in any language, translates it, and relays it with location to the people who need to see it. It is the same translation-first idea, pointed at the moment it matters most.
