01 · Translation

Everyone talks in their own language

Pick your language once. From then on you speak, type, read, and hear only in that language — Gibbr handles every translation invisibly. It runs on our own private server, so it's fast, private, and costs nothing per message.

Plain-English glossary
NLLB-200 — Meta's open-source AI model that translates 200 languages. World-class quality, no licensing fees.
Latency — the lag between sending and getting the translation back. Lower = feels more like real conversation.
Stateless / horizontal scaling — each translation is independent, so we just add more servers as users grow.
STT / TTS — speech-to-text turns your voice into text; text-to-speech reads the translation aloud.
On-device AI — running the model on the phone itself, so it works with zero internet.
02 · Emergency

One tap sends help — in any language, anywhere

In an emergency, one tap sends a translated SOS with your exact location to the right local responders. It automatically finds a way through — cell, satellite, or phone-to-phone mesh — so the message gets out even with no bars.

  • 3-layer safety net — Cell/Wi-Fi → Satellite (Starlink Direct-to-Cell) → off-grid Mesh. Always one open.
  • Text-first, location-first — the SOS is under 1 KB, so it survives the thinnest signal.
  • Routed to the right team — your GPS pin goes straight to the local dispatcher (e.g. Grand Canyon NPS), not a distant call center.
  • Proven today — a live backend already routes a Japanese SOS to the correct Grand Canyon zone with landmark + coordinates.

Plain-English glossary
SOS payload — the tiny data package (location + language + translated message) sent in an emergency.
Geo-fence — a virtual boundary around an area so the app knows whose jurisdiction you're in.
Starlink Direct-to-Cell — satellites that talk straight to a normal phone — backup signal anywhere under open sky.
Mesh network — phones relaying a message hop-by-hop until one has signal — works deep in canyons.
GPS proximity routing — sends the SOS to the nearest local rescue team, skipping call transfers.
03 · Privacy & Safety

Nobody reaches you until you approve

You connect by showing a QR code or sharing your Gibbr ID — and no one can message or call you until you approve them. Kids are automatically shielded from unverified adults. Safety isn't a setting here; it's the foundation.

  • QR + Gibbr ID — connect like a real-world handshake. No public directory to be found in.
  • Approve-first gate — default access is zero access. Cold-messaging is structurally impossible.
  • Your controls — Quiet Hours, per-contact text-only vs. voice, and invisible mode.
