- Pick a name and a language. That is the entire onboarding. Nothing to verify, nothing to install.
- Join a room — a public one from the list, or a private one with a join code.
- Talk. Your words arrive in each person's own language, and theirs arrive in yours. Nobody switches to a shared second language.
That last point is the whole idea. Most "international" chat really means everyone struggling along in English while the least confident speaker stays quiet. When translation is automatic and invisible, people write the way they actually think.
Decisions we made on purpose
Gibbr does not handle photos, images or video. Images are the largest single source of moderation risk, and a product with no signup wall cannot responsibly carry that risk. Dropping them entirely is a better answer than filtering them badly.
Every account requirement is a reason not to bother. A name and a language is enough to start talking, so the first message happens within seconds of arriving.
Public rooms are age gated before entry. Private rooms are join-code only and never appear in any listing.
AI moderators patrol continuously and read every language Gibbr supports. Abuse does not get a free pass for arriving in a language the moderators do not speak — which is exactly how most multilingual platforms fail.

Over 20, with everyone reading and writing in their own.
Can I send photos?
No — Gibbr is text only, deliberately. See above.
Is it age restricted?
Public rooms are 18+ and gated before entry. Private rooms are join-code only.
Where does translation run?
On our own infrastructure, not a third-party API. That keeps it fast enough for live conversation and keeps message content in-house.
